Founded by June Higgins, a dancer since she was 7, and a professionally qualified able-bodied dance teacher since 1985, Wheels in Motion Sheffield allow the chance to dance, despite ability or difficulties.
4 years ago June challenged the norm and made the impossible, possible, the rest is history.
Not only is wheelchair dancing incredibly fun but it also very high in health benefits, both mentally and physically. Improving stamina, flexibility and balance, wheelchair dancing can help people accept becoming a wheelchair user, as well as improving co-ordination, memory and keeping the mind active.
But we don't just focus on competitions, Wheels in Motion feel the social side is the most important, bringing people from all walks of life with all forms of disabilities together through their one shared passion for dance.
